High school football Week 10: Cast your vote for the Independent Mail Athlete of the Week
It's that time again – time to pick the Independent Mail Athlete of the Week!
Each week during high school football season, we'll highlight one player from Anderson area teams whose game performance was notable the week before. Voting will be open Tuesday mornings through noon on Thursdays, and winners will be announced by 5 p.m. every Thursday.
Here are the nominees for this week – vote below!
Amir Dendy, Pendleton
In their 55-26 win over Seneca, sophomore Amir Dendy had a dominant performance. He carried the ball 35 times for 207 yards and scored four touchdowns.
Blakely Williams, Palmetto
In their 42-20 win over Pickens, senior Blakely Williams had a game that was both effective and efficient. He caught three passes for 93 yards, all of them for touchdowns.
Tyler Venables, D.W. Daniel
In their 31-28 win over Belton-Honea Path, senior Tyler Venables carried the load on offense. He finished the game 17-26 for 162 passing yards and four touchdowns.
Jason Wright-Mann, Pendleton
In their 55-26 win over Seneca, senior Jason Wright-Mann was a major force catching the ball. He totaled 10 catches for 216 yards and three touchdowns.
Caden Beck, Powdersville
In their 28-7 win over Liberty, junior Caden Beck was productive in multiple areas. On defense he recorded two tackles, one pass breakup and three interceptions; one of them returned 47 yards for a touchdown. He also handled kicking duties, going 4-4 on extra points and had one touchback.
Kameron Jones, Pendleton
In their 55-26 win over Seneca, sophomore Kameron Jones had an explosive game through the air. He completed 18 of 25 passes for 313 yards and three touchdowns.
