Tyrell Jackson, Wren
Wren went on the road to face Georgia's Camden County, from Class 7A, and won 25-14. Senior quarterback Tyrell Jackson powered the offense, throwing for 343 yards and three touchdowns behind 31-of-60 passing. He also rushed eight times for 29 yards.
Xavier Nance, BHP
Nance, a senior receiver, spent much of last year battling injury. This year, he is looking to stay healthy. In Friday's season opener, Nance caught four passes for 140 yards and a score in a 51-7 route of Powdersville, showing how dangerous he can be.
Tyler Venables, Daniel
Behind a sterling outing from Venables, Daniel matched its win total from last year, and are 2-0 heading into a big rivalry game with Seneca this week. In a 54-28 win over rival Easley this pasts Friday, Venables was responsible for 315 yards of total offense and six touchdowns. He also did not have a turnover.
Isaiah Norris, T.L. Hanna
The Yellow Jackets opened the season with a dominating 47-7 win over Emerald on the road this past Friday, and Isaiah Norris played a big part. The senior opened the game with a 76-yard run for a score to kickstart the blowout. On the night, Norris finished with 79 yards and a score on three carries, and caught three passes for 90 yards and a touchdown. He also recorded a tackle for loss on defense.
Jamal Blakely, Pendleton
Blakely supplied all the offensive scoring the Bulldogs would need in a 14-7 win over Pickens. The senior quarterback went 6-for-11 passing for 86 yards and a score, and added 15 carries for 47 yards and a touchdown.
Clay Lollis, Liberty
The Red Devils bounced back from last week's 38-0 shutout loss to Daniel with a 22-6 win over Berea. Lollis, a senior fullback, powered the win rushing for 110 yards and two touchdowns on 15 carries. He also caught two balls for 31 yards.
